Imagine if you were bed-bound with family unable to visit you, or living alone but in need of help with simple tasks. With the pandemic amplifying distance and isolation, people are feeling more and more disconnected from one another. This is especially so among the elderly who may not have access to technology, and distressed families with little resources and limited support network.
The increasing social isolation that has permeated the world can be combated when we each choose to step out and make a connection. Volunteer your time to be a befriender and walk alongside another. You can offer some companionship to fill the longing of someone else in need.
